St Tysilio’s Church, Sellack

Project: Installation of Toilet and Catering Facilities

Client: St Tysilio’s Church Council

Value: <£100,000

Duration: 3 months

Architect: Hook Mason Architects

An intricate project needing a gentle understanding approach, working with a listed building with local importance to install much needed toilet and catering facilities to a village church.

The works included the installation of new toilet facilities in the base of the tower and formation of a ‘trench-arch’ sewage treatment facility as well as the manufacture and installation of custom made kitchen cupboards.

Albeit a smaller project, it was not without it’s surprises; while undertaking the works a number of skeletons and a barrel vaulted crypt (which previously no-one knew existed) were uncovered. The news article and some photos of the find can be read on the Hereford Times website.
