The Brief.
C J Bayliss was awarded the contract to extend and transform an iconic building in the heart of Hereford to provide additional restaurant and bar space and to create a multi-purpose space to be used for classes, workshops and performances.
The project involved a number of different challenges from start to completion. Tight construction program, Constructing within an exiting structure, poor ground conditions, restricted working space and ensuring the building was kept weather tight and secure throughout the build were problems that needed overcoming.
Through careful planning and incorporating contractors early on in the project meant early difficulties could be identified and then systems implemented so that these risks were eliminated before they could have an impact on the very tight project program.
